BYRD AND JOSQUIN FOR CORPUS CHRISTI
- Our May concert, Byrd and Josquin for Corpus Christi, continues Chantry's ongoing traversal of Byrd's Gradualia, the monumental set of propers for the entire liturgical year which was the crowning achievement of Byrd's career. The program will pair Byrd's luminous Propers for the Feast of Corpus Christi with Josquin's great Missa Pange lingua. We will sing this music both in concert and at a solemn high Tridentine Latin Mass on the Feast of Corpus Christi (untransferred from its proper Thursday) at St. Bernadette's in Silver Spring.
